Please take into consideration the venue for this event is a bar/events venue and NOT a theatre. It is a private LaVolta’s Dance Events Hull & East Riding of Yorkshire event with spectator tickets ONLY for family & friends wanting to support their child and spectator tickets are NOT open to the general public. This is a performance opportunity for competitors to play to a crowd and we encourage clapping, cheering and dancing from spectators. Please make sure to cheer for every competitor. It will not be silent and there may be people moving around and coming in and out of the venue while performers are singing however this is an opportunity for performers to entertain and grab an audience’s attention in a different setting. This vocal competition is fun and friendly as always and is a chance to also socialize with other performers and support Hull talent.
Competitors must stay in the audience with their parent/guardian/chaperone and will be called up to the stage from the audience when it is their time to perform.
The venue holds approximately 200 spectators but please note that views may be restricted. When it is your child’s turn to perform, you will have front row reserved seating for your child’s performance only. This is to ensure family & friends of every competitor have a clear view of their child’s performance. Once your child has performed you will be asked to move back to your tables so that the next group of spectators can come forward to take the front seats to support their child.
Please arrive with costume/make-up/hair done. A changing room will be provided for those that need it if a child is competing in more than one section on the same day.
The bar will be open for refreshments and snacks throughout the day for spectators. Please DO NOT bring in your own food and drinks on to the premises.
Strictly no demonstrating to aid any competitor – if they are unable to perform without prompts then please do not enter them.
In all age categories please ensure that the costume, movement and music/song choice is appropriate for the age of the entrant.
The adjudicators decision is final.
Eating and drinking in the changing room is NOT allowed.
Teachers & parents are responsible for their student’s behavior at all times. The teacher is responsible for checking the dressing rooms to ensure everything is in order before leaving the premises.
